As it turns out, I actually did have a word for 2019. It wasn’t until last week that I remembered though. I clearly didn’t choose the right one. Now that I think about it, there really hasn’t been a clear-cut word for 2019, unless you count “car trouble” and “house problems” but I don’t.
The word I chose last winter was “Joy”. It didn’t do anything for me. So I decided to choose a new word for the last four months of the year. My new word is “Intention”. Being intentional means doing the things that are important even if they’re not easy or fun. Being intentional means planning time for fun and unplugging during that time. It means spending more time face-to-face instead of on devices. It means being grateful for what I have and not worrying about what I don’t have.
Intention: a thing intended; an aim or plan.
I have a feeling this word will serve me well for the next four months.
Do you have a word for 2019? Do you need a new word?
